Ear Infection

We have been very lucky that Georgia has not been sick until now. I know breastfeeding played a huge roll in that. I was hopeful that she wouldn't get sick at all while breastfeeding, but oh well. Our poor baby has her first ear infection. She got a little cold last week and it turned into an ear infection. She started her medicine yesterday and will hopefully feel better by tomorrow. I know she is not feeling well and is extra clingy. The worst part is that I know eating hurts her. She does not want to lay down to nurse. I hope she feels better soon.

Surprise

Last Thursday Georgia and I went up to Brentwood to surprise my friend Natalie. She is the new choir director at our old high school. This is a really big deal and we are all so proud of her. She had her first concert on Thursday night and a few of us decided to go and surprise her. It was so neat to see her in action and all the kids loving on her afterwards.
There were 4 girls, not including Georgia, and Natalie's husband that went. All four of us girls were in choir. We did not have as good of a relationship with the old director as Natalie did. Actually on the first day of school, my freshman year. Mrs. Clark said, "Oh no, not another Vraciu." Let me tell you the next few years did not go so well. With all that said, I now tell you that 2 minutes before the show started, who else but Mrs. Clark walked in and sat directly in front of me. We all looked at each other and didn't know what to say. She didn't notice us. After the show was over we stood around to wait for Natalie, but stood there for what felt like and eternity debating on whether or not we were supposed to say hi. We finally decided to say hi as we were walking out the door. Awkward!!!
After the show we decided to walk around the high school and see what all changed. It was so funny. They have a Wii and flat screen TVs in the cafeteria. We had a book store in high school, but it didn't sell books it only sold candy. Now it doesn't sell candy but only books. As we walked by the Library, which was updated, one of the girls said, " We didn't have a library." We did, obviously she never used it. Benefits of growing up in technological world, where you can search the internet for information rather than books. It was so much fun to reminisce. We wrote one teacher a note and another friend a note and slipped them under their doors.
After we all talked for a while I had to hurry home since it was way past Georgia's bedtime. I put her to bed and sat around and talked with my parents. My dad went to bed and my mom stayed up with me. She wouldn't let me leave and said we were going to stay up all night watching TV. Finally at 11 I said I was going to get ready for bed. She made me promise that I would come back down. When I came back she told me I could go to bed. It was so weird.
The next morning I came downstairs tired from staying up and went to complain to dad about what mom made me do. As I walked into the kitchen I saw my dad at the table with my brother Brian. He had come in town for work and decided to stay a few extra days to surprise me for my birthday, and to play with Georgia. It was so special. That night we celebrated my dad's and my birthdays. My Grandmother come over and we all had a great time.
Here is a video of Uncle Brian playing peek-a-boo with Georgia
The rest are videos from around the house. Georgia geta camera shy. She laughs so hard and then when you pull out the camera she stops.
This is the ottoman in her room, excuse the mess. She loves to play on it. Normally she squeals a lot.
Singing If your happy and you know it
She has started to do the cutest thing with her eyes. She closes them and smiles at you.

Crafts

Lately I have been making crafts for Georgia Grace and for gifts to other people. I am practicing my sewing skills. Robert really wants me to try to sell some of it, but I don't think it is worth the time. I enjoy doing it, but mainly because I get to show it off on my precious little girl or for friends. I have been making burp cloths, teething necklaces, applique onsies, bows, dresses, and a tutu. I rounded up some of my projects. I could not find all of them and have given some away as gifts.
This is a teething necklace. Georgia likes to grab and pull on it. She is just starting to us it as a teether
broach, 2 bows, headband, and a small clip
Witch leg onsie. I have cute leg warmers to go with this
This is my favorite one. So cute and girlie
Houndstooth dress! Roll Tide
This is a ghost onsie and a tutu. She looks so cute in it and loves the tulle.
I could not find her burp cloth that I love. I am having fun and hope to learn more skills.

29 and Holding

This year I celebrated the first of many 29th birthdays. We have a lot of friends that have kids that we never get to have over because I do not have toys for toddlers yet. We decided to rent a bounce house partly for them and mostly for me. Let's be serious...who doesn't want to have fun like a kid. The funny thing is that most of the people with kids that came, did not bring their kids for various reasons. We have two little girls that live next door and they had enough fun for everyone. We have a good house for having people over because we have a nice deck area. Unfortunately it was unusually cold on my birthday and most people wanted to stay inside to stay warm or to watch the baseball and football games. We do not have enough seating for everyone. At one point, I counted over 40 people at the house. Even though it was crowded it was so much fun.
Later in the night, Robert built a fire in the fire pit and we made smores and sat around it.
It was one of the best birthdays I have ever had. Thank you to everyone that helped make it a special day and to my wonderful family. Robert you made this such a magical day, I love you.
Hanging out watching the kids jump
Watching the Cardinals game
Kids started the jumping off
Me holding Molly even though she is wearing a gators dress
Hanging out by the fire
Later in the evening the adults took over the bounce house
Kristi and Me
Ken, Brad, Steak, and me
I got tackled to the ground many times
The next day Robert and I had more fun on the bounce house

Got the Momma

2 months ago I posted about Zoey catching and eating baby opossums. Well 2 weeks ago she caught the momma. Robert was giving Georgia a bath and I was down stairs with Zoey. Zoey started barking to go outside, so I put her out and went upstairs to feed Georgia and put her to bed. Robert came up a little while later and said Zoey was running around the yard with an opossum in her mouth. Robert chased her around until he caught her and made her drop the animal. We poked it and saw it was still alive, but playing dead. It got up and left an hour later. We wondered what happened to it. A few nights ago my neighbors told me they had found a dead opossum in their garage a few weeks ago. We are not sure, but think Zoey harmed the animal and it went off and died :(
Zoey is not the best dog and does not mind us very well, but she is good at catching animals.

8 months

Georgia Grace seems to be growing up so fast. Robert and I try to enjoy every moment with her because we know she will be off at college soon. We have been doing a lot of the same stuff with play dates and hanging out with friends. She went to her first wedding and met her Great Aunt and Uncle. We have gone up to Nashville a few times to visit family and will go a few more times before the holidays. It is really nice having family close. Georgia also had her other grandma, Nana come visit her, but of course we forgot to take pictures.
Georgia is sitting up like a pro, but still falls backwards at times. She can pivot to a laying down position and sometimes gets up on all fours, but not much. She is not crawling yet, but I am more thankful than worried. She will get it on her own time, and I am enjoying her immobility. I say that, but she rolls all over the place. I had Robert pull the pack-in-play back out for her to play in while I get dressed. Otherwise she will roll over the room and out the door. She gets on her stomach and scoots backwards which is very funny. She will get stuck under furniture.
Georgia has one tooth on the bottom and is in full fledged teething mode right now. She is fussy with me, which she has never been before. She is still having a hard time being away from me. I continue to take her to the church nursery 3 times a which, and they usually page me if it is longer than an hour.
Georgia has a lot of fun playing on the floor with her toys. She loves to swing. We have a park in our neighborhood and we take walks down to it and push her in the swing. I took a video of it to show how happy she is, but you can't tell very well since the swing is moving. He favorite song is Patty Cake. She is doing better with sleeping, but has been waking up a lot lately because of the teething. She is eating great right now, but will only eat fruit and yogurt. No veggies.
This picture may be too small, but you can see her tooth
She is sooo long

I know this is weird, but even at an early age she likes her reading material.
