Tis the Season

Robert and I love the Holiday Season. We love to go get a real tree and make an evening out of it. We play lots of Christmas music, get festive drinksm and decorate the tree and house. We love going around to see all the Christmas lights and enjoy everything about this time of year. We hope to pass this passion on to our kids. We always go to a couple of annual Christmas parties. It was different this year having Georgia. We had my parents come down to watch her for Robert's work party, but took her to the rest. She did really well around everyone and we actually brought her pack-in-play to one of the party's so we could stay later. Here are a few pictures from this season.

Her new best friend Santa. I think we will ask him to babysit

Robert and I love going to Hockey games. We usually get a big group together and go to a couple of games a year. Georgia got to go to her first game the other week. We usually buy the cheap tickets and sit at the top. Half way through the game, my friend who used to be the mascot, ran into someone who works there and he let all of us move down to a floor level box on the ice. It was sooo much fun. Georgia loved being that close. I loved the free popcorn.
 Started at the top
End of the game. Georgia was banging on the ice!!

Two weekends ago we went to Robert's work party. This is always fun because we have a lot of friends who work at Robert's company.

Right before Thanksgiving, one of our friends has an annual White Trash Turkey Bash. You are supposed to dress up as white trash and then we fry everything we can find. It is so much fun. It is also fun to see how the group grows. The first year no kids, last year 1 kid. This year, four kids. Let's see how we keep multiplying

For those of you who don't live in Alabama, I promise this is not how we usually dress.

10 months

I can't believe my baby is in double digits now. She is getting bigger and bigger to me (even though she isn't growing). I can't believe we have less than 2 months until she turns one.
We had to go back and do a weight check up on Georgia and she lost 3 ounces because of being sick. She now weighs 14 lbs 9 ounces and is not on the growth chart. We are working hard to get her weight up, giving bottles after nursing and giving her fatty food like grilled cheese sandwiches. Georgia's favorite foods are: cheerios, most kinds of bread, cheese, and anything sweet. She will eat fruit baby food, but won't eat real fruit. We are working on it, I think it is a texture thing. We keep our cheerios in old puff containers for easy access. Georgia will see one and crawl right over to it. She will attempt to put the bottle in her mouth and then gets mad when she gets no food. She will also sign more in her highchair when looking at the bottle.
Georgia is crawling now and taking a few steps with a walking toy. She says momma, waves high and bye, blows kisses, and signs more. It think she says hi too, but not 100% sure if she really knows what it means or is just repeats me.
She loves to play and pull all toys or laundry out of a bin. She loves to read and look at books. Pat the Bunny is her favorite book right now. We sing a lot before bed and she cuddles up with me, I love it. She is really attached to her blanket. I bought 4 lovies for her, so I could switch them out when they got dirty and she doesn't care about them.
Georgia is a very happy baby and loves to be around other kids. She still loves to swing, but we don't get to do it as often since it got cold. She still tantrums when she doesn't get what she wants or we take something away from her that she is not supposed to have. I just read a post my friend wrote on her blog about her toddler throwing fits, and I can only imagine how bad Georgia's will be.
She is not napping as good any more. I hear her in there talking and playing. When I have walked in she is standing up playing with something.
She is our beautiful peach and we love her more and more every day.
It is so hard to get a mobile baby to sit still for a picture
This was too cute, she just lay her head down

 Happy baby!

This is a video of Georgia reading her book. I try to get videos of all the cute stuff she does, but when she sees the camera she stops.

Thankfulness

This Thanksgiving was Georgia's first big holiday to spend with the family and it almost didn't happen. Starting the Sunday before Thanksgiving, she woke up from her afternoon nap with fever of 102. During the night she required multiple snuggles. Around 2 am I woke up and started getting sick from both ends. I told Robert he had to stay home from work and help take care of Georgia. We took her to the doctor in the morning and they found nothing wrong with her. In the parking lot on the way home Robert started throwing up. The rest of the day was the most miserable thing for all of us. Robert and I were so dehydrated it hurt just laying there. We knew our plans to leave to next day for his mom's weren't going to happen. On Tuesday Robert and I started to feel better, Georgia was still sick. By Wednesday at noon Georgia had been fever free for almost 24 hours so we thought we could head down to Jackson, BIG MISTAKE. All Wednesday night Georgia woke up screaming and I could do nothing to make her better. She hadn't been eating well since she got sick, but you can never tell with a breastfed baby how much they get. On Thanksgiving she woke up with a dry diaper and a rash. I knew we had to go get her checked out. We went to a walk in clinic that proceeded to torture my child, aka run multiple tests. They told us her platelet count was very low and because of her dehydration they were sending us to the hospital. As soon as we got to the hospital the nurses were all concerned about her. They drew more blood (torture) and catheterized her to get a urine sample. I had to stand over her and hold her down. It was the hardest thing I have ever watched. Tears were rolling down my face and mixing with hers on the bed. When they finally hooked the IV up she was so tired she passed out on me. By the end of the IV, I could already tell she was better. She is doing much better now and is back to normal. This was a Thanksgiving were I truly had a lot to be thankful for. Unfortunately at the end of our trip we seemed to pass on the virus to Robert's mom, and niece and nephew.

Fall in love

Fall is one of my favorite times of year. This fall has been particularly beautiful. The weather has been in the 70's most days with very few rainy days. We have a park in our neighborhood that we try to walk to once a day to go swinging. I love seeing all the leaves change colors and hear the leaves rustle under my feet. I wish we could have spring, summer, and fall; no winter. As I write this it has just gotten cold here. Robert finally brought some wood in to make a fire later this week. It is too cold and rainy to go to the park now, but hopefully it will get a little warmer soon. Here are some pictures of Georgia doing her favorite thing.

We have three big oak trees in our front yard that produce a lot of leaves. Robert was out raking them the other weekend and the two girls next door came over to play in them. Watching them jump in the pile of leaves over and over again made me excited for seeing Georgia do that some day. For now she just got to sit in them and did not like it very much.

And We're off

(This is my second attempt. I uploaded all the videos and them something messed up and it didn't save. I am so mad.)
As I previously stated Georgia is crawling now. Right after Georgia turned 9 months we started to work on the crawling thing. We stopped the cloth diapers for a week since they were so bulky. Sure enough after two days of being in the disposable diapers she started crawling. We let her get good at it for a week before we put the cloth diapers back on. While it is so cute watching her crawl, it is definitely a whole new game. We have to watch her constantly. She loves to crawl over and get Zoey's toys or play on her bed. I also am having to clean the floors multiple times a day to get rid of the dog hair. Anyone want a dog?

Yes she is naked. It is our favorite time right after bath.

This is an older video. One time during nap Georgia threw her paci over the crib. I was able to crawl down and hand it to her without seeing me. It took her a minute but she must have realized that there was a body to the hand that appeared. She pulled the bumper down to see me. After that it turned into a game.

This is one of her favorite activities, to toss everything out of a container. She loves to take nicely folded clothes and throw them everywhere.

Wedding and babies

This past weekend we went down to New Orleans for Robert's cousin's wedding. It was on Friday night which was actually better because we got the rest of the weekend to hang out with family. The reception was an adult only reception. We got special permission to take Georgia along with a few of Robert's cousins to bring their kids. Georgia and I only stayed about 30 minutes at the reception. She was getting fussy and I didn't want anyone to hear her so we left. Robert had a blast with his family the rest of the night.
On Saturday we drove over to Gulfport, MS where some of his family lives. Robert's cousin Angela just had twin girls and we wanted to go meet them. Angela looked great. You could barely tell she had just had a baby, let alone twins. We stayed at Robert's cousin's house and he had a impromptu party for the Alabama vs LSU game. Even though we lost we have fun hanging out with family and friends.
The whole weekend was a lot of the fun. The drive was very long and Georgia Grace did not like it. On the way there she got car sick twice and threw up all over her car seat. It smelt so bad. Most kids like the car and will sleep in it. Not my child. She wants her crib. She would take short naps, but not much.

Georgia and I are all ready for the game!!

I know some people think this is weird, but I think it is so cute. We have to take a potty with us because Georgia does not like to poop in her diaper.

Halloween

This year was so much fun figuring out what we could all be together. Robert was Woody from Toy Story and I was Little Bo Peep, his girlfriend in the movie. Georgia was of course my sheep. I thought this was soo cute and creative. The Friday before Halloween we went to our annual party with our friends. There is another couple that has a baby 2 weeks older than Georgia. Hailey and I were pregnant together and were even in the same child birthing classes. We have multiple pregnancy pictures together. It was only perfect that she walks in as  Little Bo Peep with a sheep too. Her husband was the big bad wolf. It was very cute. As we were sitting playing with the babies, talking about how we have never seen another Little Bo Peep. In walks another Little Bo Peep(LBP) with 8 sheep. I will not have pictures of them because that LBP showed too much peep and the sheep looked like they had been sheered. It was too funny that we all matched.
On Halloween I went over to Blakeley's house to get a few pictures with the kids before handing out candy. Georgia missed her party with her friends because I had to work :(. After we passed out candy we went to our friends Matt and Kristi's house like we did last year. They had a bonfire set up in the street as did their other neighbors. Our other friends live across the street and they had a party too. Their neighborhood goes all out. While in my costume, I kept knocking things over or almost catching on fire. I finally changed as to not ruin my costume. Georgia went around to the neighbors to show off her costume, but next year we will actually trick or treat.

9 months

As I always say, time is just flying by. Georgia Grace is getting so big and so much fun. She got her second tooth the day after she turned 9 months. We went to the doctor for her check up and did not have the best visit. She luckily did not have to get shots, but we found out that Georgia is not doing well in the charts. She weighed 14 lbs and 12 ounces(2%) and her height had dropped back down to 50% and her headed also dropped to the 25%. The doctor was concerned because she had dropped in all three categories and didn't have much fat to spare. When you look at her you think she is skinny, but you would never say that she looked scary under weight. We are trying to put some extra weight on her and will go back for a weight check in a month. If she is not progressing they will start testing to see if there is a reason why.
Georgia's favorite thing to do is to swing. We try to go as often as we can. She will cry when you take her out of the swing. She looks so tiny in it, but it is cute. She is so close to crawling, but usually goes backwards so she then just rolls. Her favorite food is Cheerios. If you pull out the container she will get so excited. Georgia is waving hello to people which is so cute.
She is already starting to tantrum. If you put her down and she doesn't want to be down she will throw her body backwards. In the highchair if you give her food she doesn't want she will slam her body back into the chair. It is funny now, but is a bad sign about what is to come as a toddler.
She is babbling all the time. She is at the stage where she imitates what she hears. If I cough, she coughs. She growls. She tries to make a lot of the same noises that we do. I will try to get a video. They are so funny.
Georgia Grace is still a mommy's girl. She loves to see her daddy when he comes home from work, but as soon as he holds her she gets upset. She starts pushing away from him and trying to get back to me. It is sad, but funny at the same time.
I hate that I can never remember all the things I want to put in here. Georgia does so many cute things during the day and I want to document them, but can't recall them when I need too.
We had to lower her bed since she is starting to pull up. The other night she was not wanting to go to sleep.  Now that she can't look over the bumpers, she figured out how to pull them down and see me. It was so cute and such a fun game.
In case you are wondering, I am giving information from the time of her 9 month mark, not now. She is crawling now but I will comment on that later.

Pumkin Patch

This was the first year we were able to go to our local pumpkin patch. It was so much fun with Georgia. You wouldn't think that an 8 month old would be able to do much there but she had so much fun. They had lots of things for bigger kids to do which is exciting for future years. Georgia got to pet animals, which she loves, swung, played in a giant bin of corn, and played with pumpkins. It was so much fun.

Holding a bunny. This child loves animals

Pigs. I love pigs

It would have been cute if she was wearing her sheep costume

They had multiple giant bins full of corn. She had so much fun playing in here. She only tried to eat the corn once which was amazing. We went out to eat after we left Tate Farms. When I changed her diaper, I found pieces of corn. When we got home and were undressing her for a bath, we found even more pieces of corn. I don't know where she hides it but she loved that corn.
