Lake House

This summer Robert and I were very fortunate to get to go to my parents lake house a lot. We spent weekends just with the family and other we got to have friends come with us. Memorial weekend is typically hot weather but the water is still cold. This particular year was soooo cold. We never once got in the water. We set up baby pools for the girls but the water was so cold. I put multiple pots of water on the stove and boiled water so it would be warm enough for them. They had so much fun together for the whole weekend.

On Father's day weekend we went to the lake to spend family time and see my brother.

Brian and Keeley brought this back from Hawaii for Georgia. How cute!!

Georgia's first tubing experience. It did not go well. She screamed so much that we didn't stay on it long.

Cute, but not as good as Molly's picture

Robert had a few of his college buddies come down with their kids. Unfortunately Jason's wife couldn't come because their other son got sick

Collin loved playing in the boat but hated going for a ride because he had to wear a life vest and stay seated. He had so much fun pretending to drive and honking the horn. He also had an obsession with keys. We were constantly looking for the boat keys because he would take them and play with them.

 Pretty successful day
Georgia loves sunscreen. She loves to carry the bottles around and for me to put it on. She still finds the bottles and carries them around

We also got to have a weekend with our small group. We had a lot of fun and the kids all love to be with each other. I just wish I had gotten more pictures

VBS

This year I helped out with VBS again. I did music for the nursery. I like doing it for this age because I get to be with Georgia part of the time. This year I was watching my friend's daughter for a few days and brought her to VBS with us. Molly is Georgia's best friend. They have soooo much fun playing together. Georgia was too little to fit in a VBS shirt so I bought a bandue and had her wear it as a shirt.

 I'd say Molly likes VBS
Georgia loved doing all the crafts too

We used puppets for one of the songs. I officially became the puppet lady to one of the classrooms.

Mother's Day and Father's Day

Robert and I always seem to go out of town and be gone for a long time. This year we were out of town for both Mother's day and Father's day. Regardless of having to travel on both days we still managed to get some sweet family time in which is all that matters. We are not big on presents but love spending quality time together and enjoying what it means to be a parents. We both feel that God has blessed us so much by giving us Georgia Grace. Traditionally these holidays are to celebrate and appreciate your parents, but I find myself thanking God for the gift of being a parent.

Weddings

This spring we had 4 weddings, none of which were in town. We took Georgia to 2 of them. I unfortunately can't find all the pictures but here are 2, mainly just to show you how cute Georgia Grace is. Unfortunately for both brides, Georgia stole the show. She was the first one out on the dance floor and entertained everyone. At one wedding the band was playing songs just for her. There is a video of her dancing, sorry it is sideways. I don't know how to turn it.

This is also 1 1/2 hours past her bedtime. She was in a pretty good mood.

Easter

I know this post is WAY over due and many more but we lost this camera and just found it a little over a month ago. I am going to try to catch up on posts, but my memory is not the best.
Georgia had a fun event filled Easter. She had three celebrations: Church, neighborhood, and friends.
Our church had a breakfast, puppet show, Easter egg hunt for the toddlers and egg roll for the older kids. Robert was not feeling well during the weekend so he did not come with us. During the puppet show Georgia FREAKED out. She loves Sesame Street, especially Elmo. She also loves music and can't get enough. She is usually up dancing when she hears music. I thought she was going to love the puppet show, but I could not stay in the room with her. I tried multiple times thinking it was just a certain part of the show, but the full on screams started.

 First Easter Egg hunt.

This is the second year we have celebrated Easter lunch with friends. Since none of us have family in town and we don't like leaving town for every holiday it is perfect to have lunch with friends.

All the babies. Abby, Georgia, Sage, Jasper, and Jude

Our neighborhood had a little Easter egg hunt in our park. It was fun and a good way to get to know some neighbors. Unfortunately the grass was wet and muddy and Georgia had not perfected walking yet. She was a big mess afterwards.
You can't tell in the picture, but she is crying from being so scared.
I am trying to keep her from getting muddy. It didn't work that well. They did not have candy in any of the eggs. They had a bag of candy each kids got. I like that idea. They also had a prize egg and Georgia won it for her age group. She got a basket with a few toys.

Dress up

I promise I am working on updating from months ago but I had to post this. Georgia grace had really started to like to play dress up. I have been sorting through her clothes for the winter and she decided it was play time.

All by myself

Since turning 1 Georgia has really started to show her independence. She likes to try to do things on her own from wiping her face or bottom, to trying to dress herself. None of them are perfected yet but she is sure trying and having fun doing it. Georgia also loves to try to use silverware herself. We did not have any little kid forks or spoons so I went out and got her a set. She has loved trying to feed herself with fork or spoon even if it doesn’t work right like a goldfish cracker. Here is a little video of Georgia feeding herself pudding at 14 months.

First night away

Back in March our friends Greg and Megan got married. It was down in Montgomery, which is about 3 hours away. Since that is a little too far for us to drive after a long reception, we decided to spend the night. My parents were able to come down and stay with Georgia so we could have a night away. It was my first time to be away from her over night. It was nice to not have to worry about her and get her to bed early. Greg has a nephew a week older than Georgia. When I saw him at the reception, I did miss her, but was still glad to have a night free. Gigi and Bopa also had fun with baby girl. She put on multiple dance shows for them but they didn't snap any pictures.
The church they got married in was absolutely gorgeous. It looked like it belonged in England. After the wedding we drove past the hotel to the reception. We noticed that a lot of the lights were out. When we pulled up to the reception it was completely dark. Thank goodness that people use a lot of candles at weddings. The atmosphere was very romantic with all the candles. Luckily they had already cooked all of the food. After about 2 hours the lights came back on and the reception went off without any other problems.
