All by myself

Since turning 1 Georgia has really started to show her independence. She likes to try to do things on her own from wiping her face or bottom, to trying to dress herself. None of them are perfected yet but she is sure trying and having fun doing it. Georgia also loves to try to use silverware herself. We did not have any little kid forks or spoons so I went out and got her a set. She has loved trying to feed herself with fork or spoon even if it doesn’t work right like a goldfish cracker. Here is a little video of Georgia feeding herself pudding at 14 months.

First night away

Back in March our friends Greg and Megan got married. It was down in Montgomery, which is about 3 hours away. Since that is a little too far for us to drive after a long reception, we decided to spend the night. My parents were able to come down and stay with Georgia so we could have a night away. It was my first time to be away from her over night. It was nice to not have to worry about her and get her to bed early. Greg has a nephew a week older than Georgia. When I saw him at the reception, I did miss her, but was still glad to have a night free. Gigi and Bopa also had fun with baby girl. She put on multiple dance shows for them but they didn't snap any pictures.
The church they got married in was absolutely gorgeous. It looked like it belonged in England. After the wedding we drove past the hotel to the reception. We noticed that a lot of the lights were out. When we pulled up to the reception it was completely dark. Thank goodness that people use a lot of candles at weddings. The atmosphere was very romantic with all the candles. Luckily they had already cooked all of the food. After about 2 hours the lights came back on and the reception went off without any other problems.

Colorado

It has been way too long since I have posted. We have been really busy and trying to keep up with our posts has not made it to the top of my list. Unfortunately I then forget and miss posts that I would want to document and remember for later. For now, I will just recall what I can.
Back in late February my mom, Georgia, and I flew out to Colorado to watch my brother's 3 kids so he could go on a vacation with his wife. Robert came out and met us toward the end of the week. It was so much fun getting to see my nephews and niece. I love them. To be completely honest, I have never been so tired in my life. Emma, my niece wakes up multiple times during the night. Miller, the other baby also woke up one night screaming for a couple hours because he had an ear infection. Then we spent the whole day running around with 4 kids. I normally have a lot of energy, but man they wore me out. On the second day we were there Ryan and Emma were supposed to go to school. We got everyone ready and still had over an hour before we had to leave. We thought we were going to be rushed for school, but on the contrary we were wishing we could leave early. I don't know how Sharon does it.  The kids had so much fun playing together and getting special time with their Aunt Gooey(that's me) and Gigi.
Since Georgia was not walking on her own at that time, she was wanting to walk with a walking toy ALL the time. Since she was still learning how to walk she put too much weight on the stroller and then it would fall over on her. The way to keep that from happening was to put something heavy in it. Miller worked perfect. He got to go from a long walk up and down the hallway. If you can't see Georgia has a huge smile on her face

Cousins having fun together. Emma liked playing with Georgia more than Miller...poor Miller. Good thing he has a great big brother.
Last year for Ryan and Emma's birthdays I sent them this jumpoleen. It never got blown up and I was determined to get it blown up for them. I did it while they were at school. They had so much fun playing on it. It produced a lot of static electricity. we invented a shock game. They would try to see who could shock me the biggest.

                                                         Gigi with the two babies
Since all three of the younger kids still nap, Ryan got some special time with each of us. I downloaded a few games for Ryan and we would sit and play them together.
                                                        Reading stories before bed time
One morning we took them to an indoor jump place. We left miller at home with my mom. The other three kids had so much fun. They even had a lot of stuff for Georgia. The place was called Monkey Business. I think this picture of Emma says it perfectly
They has a special area for Georgia to crawl over everything. She had so much fun. She is posing.
Do you think she is having fun?
With all the fun things to play on, crawl over and through, Georgia still found and wanted to play with the shoes.
They had a special time with music. Ryan is the blur in the picture. That is a good way to describe how he was here. He met a few other little boys and ran around with them most of the time.
My mom stayed and extra day so we could leave Georgia and go up skiing. It was perfect, no one was there. It was a Monday morning and had just snowed a little. We never had to wait for the chair lift and the slopes were great. It was a good warm up for Breckenridge.
The next day all three of us drove up to Breckenridge. It snowed 11 inches on the day we got up there. We walked around the town and enjoyed the snow. It was so pretty. The town was really cute. The following day we put Georgia in daycare and went skiing. We had fresh powder. We went down some ungroomed runs. Bad move for me. The picture does not do it justice. The natural moguls were huge and when you tried to slow down, your skis went in the snow because it was so soft. I stuck to the groomed runs. It wasn't too cold, but the wind was awful. A couple of times the lifts stopped because the wind was so strong at the top that people couldn't see getting off the lift. I actually saw a tornado of snow. When it wasn't blowing, it felt nice. When the wind was blowing on you, it was brutal.
After we were done we went to pick Georgia up. When I told them her name, they said which one? There were 2 Georgia's a month apart. I thought that was funny. It was nice to relax in the hot tubs after a long day of skiing. Sitting in an outdoor hot tub while it snows is the most magical thing.

It snowed so much while we were there. The snowbanks were almost as tall as me.
We are still big kids. We wanted to make snow angels.
