1st time with dad

Yesterday I went to choir and left Georgia with Robert for the first time. He had never watched her longer than a quick shower. I was a little worried about leaving her since she had just gotten her shots and was extra fussy. When I walked in the front door this is what I saw:

Georgia sitting in her bumbo intently watching American Idol, and dad was in the other room. I started laughing so hard because it was the funniest sight. She is not looking at the TV in this shot because she was trying to turn around and see me, but she was looking at the TV when I came in.

Here she is watching Lauren sing with Carrie Underwood. Not a good sign that she likes TV this early. I told Robert that the bumbo is not intended to be used as a TV chair.

4 Months

Georgia had her 4 month checkup yesterday. She weighs 11 lbs 10 ounces(20%), is 25 inches long(75%), and her head circumference is 25% percentile. She is gaining weight well now and has moved from below the 10% to now the 20%. She is eating well with me, but ironically won't take a bottle now. I worked so hard to get her to breastfeed and now she won't take a bottle. I love all the extra time I get to spend with her, but it means I can't leave her for longer than 2 hours.
Georgia had more shots yesterday which are never fun. She was very fussy the rest of the day and did not nap well. She has started taking long naps on some days, but other days does not nap more than 15 minutes at a time. She is sleeping through the night most nights giving Robert and me an hour of alone time. She still is having a hard time being away from me, but is getting better. She will smile more at people and likes a few of the nursery workers at church and the YMCA. Georgia loves kisses from mommy and laughs so hard when mommy gives her lots of kisses at once
Developmentally Georgia has had a big month. She found her feet and plays with them now. She is intentionally kicking and grabbing toys on her activity mat and likes her exersaucer. She still is not big enough to sit in it, so I have books and blankets under it so her feet touch. The cloth diapers are limiting her a little developmentally, but I am trying to work through that. She can not roll over in the cloth diapers, but can in the disposable. She can not lift her legs or find her feet in the cloth diapers, so I try to have them really loose during part of the day. Her saliva is changing which is sign of her being ready for baby foods. We will try cereal in the next few days.
We left Georgia Grace with my parents for the first time this month. We were going to a wedding and could not take her. I kept telling my mom that I didn't think she would do well and was worried. My mom was not worried and thought everything would be fine, boy was she wrong. Georgia would not take her bottle and cried most of the time. I am pretty sure my parents, at least my dad, were glad to see us go the next day. They had enough Georgia time for awhile.
Her nicknames are princess, missy, sweetpea, little girl, and little bit

A new toy! My Feet!

Happy girl

We took Georgia swimming for the first time last week. I thought she would love it since my nephew did. She was more interested in watching the people there. It was an indoor poor so everyone's voices echoed. Georgia already loves to watch people, and this was no exception. Hopefully she will like swimming more by July when we go to the beach with my family.

Best Holiday

My first Mother's Day, was very special. Georgia Grace decided that she wanted to spend even more time with me and woke up 3 times before church and was extra clingy. She must have known that it was a day to show your mom how much you love her, because she did. I try to never look at her waking up early or making me hold her as a bad thing. I look and her and think how lucky I am to have a beautiful daughter and enjoy every moment with her.
Robert made the day special by giving me a picture frame engraved with "First Mother's Day", "Mommy and Me",'Julie and Georgia". He put a cute picture of the two of us in it. He also got me a heart necklace with her birthstone in it, but I told him to save it for a mother's necklace once we are done having kids. The day was really nice because we spent the whole day together. Robert usually does housework on the weekends, but took the day off to spend time with us.
We went on a walk, where Georgia wanted me to carry her instead of pushing her in the stroller and out to dinner, where she had me stand and rock her while I tried to eat. She just wanted to show me over and over again that she loves me, and I love it.
It was truly a special day that made me stop and really appreciate how much I love being a mom. Happy belated Mother's day to all my mommy friends.

Easter

Georgia had a great 1st Easter. We went to a party on Thursday with a bunch of other kids from our church. Jessica did such a great job decorating and making it fun for all the 2 and 3 year old kids. Georgia is still too young to know what is going on, but it was fun to go and participate. Next year will be fun since she will be able to pick up eggs. I will have to actually share her candy with her then.
On the Saturday before Easter Blakeley and I went to participate in the Great Cloth Diaper Change. We were trying to set a World record on the most cloth diapers being changed at once. It was fun to be a part of history.
Easter morning was the first Sunday we went to church service and Sunday school. We had only been going to Sunday school since I had to feed Georgia every 3 hours. She did well and took part of a bottle from the girls in the nursery. She is not good at taking bottles from other people. She stopped letting Robert give her a bottle, so I have to take her everywhere with me. It was nice to go back to church service and this means I can go back to choir now :). After church we went over to a friends house and had a nice lunch with 2 other couples. I am really into traditions and wanted to have a traditional Easter meal, but I don't like ham. It was so nice to be able to do this with other friends so we didn't have too much food left over. We will have to make it a tradition.
My pictures are all out of order so I apologize.

Road Trip

Georgia and I decided to take a road trip to Florida to see Mollie and Nelson. We traveled on Friday and Monday, so Robert was not able to come with us. We had so much fun seeing Mollie and her town. We went to a fair, saw FSU, and hung out. Life is a little more limiting with a young baby. Tallahassee is so pretty and green. It was nice to just see Mollie and where she has been living for the past 5 years.
Georgia did great in the car. We took a 7 hour trip and made it in 9 hours. We had to stop 3 times to feed. She just slept most of the way. It was harder on me not being able to hold her more during the day. When we would stop I was the one that didn't want to put her in the carseat and keep going. I get so used to holding her all day.
Georgia let Mollie and Nelson hold her a little bit, but seemed to still prefer women over men. She tends to cry faster or harder with guys. If she is anything like her momma, that will change and she will start chasing the boys.
Thanks for letting us come visit!!!

3 months

I am a little late at getting this post up, but we had pictures taken right after she turned 3 months and then the tornado outbreak. We are so lucky to have made it out with little to no damage. Georgia spent the entire day in our pantry. I put her moses basket in there and she took all of her naps in the pantry.
Georgia weighed 10 lbs and 8 oz (15%, wahoo she gained extra weight)when she turned 3 months. I do not know how long she is. She is getting fat rolls on her legs. She is smiling so much more now at me, but makes us work for them around other people. She has become very clingy to mommy and will not let other people hold her unless they face her out. She is talking so much now. I will try to get a video of it.
Georgia took a road trip to Florida to see Mollie and Nelson. I will post later about that trip. Georgia has been sleeping in her crib for about 7 hours a night. We were still swaddling her up until she turned 3 months. Once we stopped she woke up more during the night. She is doing better now that she is a week into not being swaddled. It has been easier learning her schedule and knowing what she wants. I always heard parents say that their kid had a different cry for hungry and tired, but I could never tell a difference. I am able to tell now with Georgia.
Georgia loves looking around and seeing what is going on. People always talk about how alert she is. She a little advanced on her motor skills for her age, we will see if it continues, since we haven't had as much time to work on our floor playing. She has started to grasp toys and play with them now. It is so cool seeing the progression of development right before my eyes.
She had her second holiday, Easter, which she spent with her friends Jude, Jasper, and Sage.
